Cookies and Canvas puts the brush in the hands of youth from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Feb. 21 at the Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam Arts and Crafts Center. Kids can create their own painted masterpiece while nibbling on a sweet treat. The cost is $30 and includes all art supplies. This event is open to ages 7 to 14 years and registration is required. February’s special meal in celebration of African American History Month will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Hale Aina Dining Facility. The facility is preparing a special menu that is open to all base-eligible patrons (active duty and escorted family members, retirees, Department of Defense employees with valid CAC). A free hiring event will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 23 at the Military and Family Support Center (MFSC). It is tailored towards military service members transitioning out of the service and spouses of military. For more information, call 474-1999.

Free “Olympics” block party will take the field from 3 to 5 p.m. Feb. 23 at Wahiawa Annex Sports Field. Teams of up to five members (which need to include at least one child) can compete in fun, quirky versions of some Olympic events for prizes. Eat the Street Shuttle will begin at 6:30 p.m. and return 9:30 p.m. Feb. 23 from the Hickam Information, Tickets and Travel (ITT) office. The cost of the shuttle is $7 for a round-trip and reservations are required. For more information, call 448-2295.

Abandoned vehicle auction will be held from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Feb. 24 at the vehicle lot near Porter Gate. Bids need to be submitted in person using the approved form. Vehicles are sold “as-is” with all faults and no warranty or guarantee. The cost to attend is free and it is open to military Department of Defense cardholders only (active duty, retirees, DoD civilians and reservists.
