Effective Oct. 1, the Woodring Law Center at Hickam at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam will relinquish its legal assistance services to the Navy Legal Services Office (NLSO), located at Pearl Harbor.
The following services, previously provided by Hickam’s legal office, that are affected by this transition are: wills, powers of attorney (POA), notaries and attorney consults.
However, military members seeking legal services that are deployment-related may still be seen at the Woodring Law Center by making an appointment at 449-1737. Individuals deploying within 30 days will be required to provide documentation (i.e., orders, email tasking) confirming an upcoming deployment. All other cases will be required to contact the NLSO.
NLSO can be contacted at 473-4717 and can assist in the following areas:
POA and notary services:
Tuesday, Thursday and Friday: 8-11:30 a.m. and 1-3 p.m.
Monday and Wednesday: 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 2-3 p.m.
(*Real estate notary is by appointment only.)
Legal assistance services:
Walk-in consultations: Tuesday and Thursday: 9-11 a.m. or by appointment.
When resources permit, NLSO can offer legal assistance in the following areas:
* Guardianships, adoption, name change.
* Divorce, separation, annulment.
* Non-support of dependents.
* Bankruptcy, indebtedness.
* Landlord, tenant disputes.
* Immigration, citizenship.
* Service member’s Civil Relief Act .
* Consumer affairs.
Basic estate planning and wills:
By appointment only.
Two-step process (mandatory in-person attorney consult and formal will execution ceremony).
*Arrive 15 minutes prior to any appointment time to complete preliminary client intake sheet.
