Kayak club members paddle through Pearl Harbor’s historic Middle Loch

Members of the Hui Wa'a Kaukahi kayak club of Hawai'i paddle in kayaks past the Sea-Based X-Band Radar (SBX) (above) and past the decommissioned amphibious assault ship USS Tarawa (LHA 1) (left) in Pearl Harbor Middle Loch at Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam. This historic seven-mile paddle event was the first one at the Pearl Harbor Middle Loch in more than 10 years and was coordinated with authorization from Joint Base Pearl Harbor- Hickam, Interactive Ships Maintenance Facility and Sea Systems Command.
