Bellows to hold upcoming biathlon, children’s bodyboard contest

Bellows Air Force Station will hold two upcoming sporting events, a biathlon and a keiki (children’s) body-board contest.
The second annual biathlon will take place starting at 7:30 a.m. Aug. 18.
The biathlon consists of a 300-yard swim and three-mile run. The event is an open-ocean swim, and the run is mixed asphalt and sand.
This is not a chip-timed race. The entry fee is $25 for individuals and $35 for teams. No refunds will be given.
There is a $5 discount for entries received/postmarked by Aug. 4. Register for the event by Aug. 11. Entries include a competitor’s T-shirt. Late entrants are not guaranteed a shirt. The event will include refreshments and age group awards.
In addition, Bellows will hold the Keiki Bodyboard contest, starting at 10 a.m. Sept. 22. Entry fees are $10 if postmarked by Sept. 2, $15 if postmarked between Sept. 3 and 9, and $20 after Sept. 10. No T-shirt is guaranteed after Sept. 9. No refund will be given.
Individual contest age groups are 7-9, 10-12, 13-15 and 16-17. Tandem competitors must be at least 18 years old to compete with a child age 6 and under.
All participants must be able to swim. Age group awards will be provided.
